/// Breastplate & Spirit Horse shoe ///

This series takes inspiration from the breastplates worn by Native Americans and the horseshoes attached to horses during battle, reinterpreting them for modern times.

They were worn as a symbol to inspire oneself and engrave pride in one's heart during rituals and battles.

At WAKAN, we inherit that spirit and craft it into rings and bracelets.

The horseshoe motif is adorned with rope decoration, popular in Indian jewelry, to evoke reins.

In place of nail holes, rhombus-shaped stamp work is carved.

This rhombus pattern is a geometric motif that symbolizes the golden eagle feathers adorning war bonnets among Native Americans.
It is a testament to courage and honor,
and eagles have been believed to soar high and carry prayers to the heavens.

Beyond being mere adornments,
these pieces are created with respect for the Native Americans who once fought,
and with the hope that they will gently ignite a spark in the hearts of all people who continue to face daily challenges in the modern era.
