A series re-imagined for modern times, inspired by the breastplates worn by Native Americans and the horseshoes fitted to horses during battle.
They were worn as a symbol of self-encouragement and pride during rituals and battles.
At WAKAN, we carry on that spirit, crafting them into rings and bracelets.
The horseshoe motif features the rope ornamentation popular in Indian jewelry, evoking reins.
Instead of nail holes, rhomboid stamp work is engraved.
This rhomboid pattern is a geometric motif in Native American culture that symbolizes the golden eagle feathers adorning the warbonnet.
It is a sign of courage and honor,
and eagles were believed to soar high and carry prayers to the heavens.
Beyond being mere ornaments,
these pieces are created out of respect for the Native Americans who once fought,
and with the hope that they will serve as a gentle spark in the hearts of all people today who continue to face daily challenges.
A pendant with a horseshoe motif engraved with rhomboid geometric patterns symbolizing eagle feathers, using stamp work.
The two horseshoe motifs are combined top and bottom, creating a design reminiscent of the Mobius strip, which is also our brand mark.
Through the Mobius strip, which signifies eternity and continuity,
