A series inspired by the breastplates worn by Native Americans,
reimagined for the modern era.
They were worn at ceremonies and in battle as a symbol to steel oneself and bear one's pride upon the chest.
WAKAN carries on that spirit, crafting it into rings and necklaces.
Set against a white base, the reddish-brown spiderweb stones are
Wild Horse, a stone found in Arizona, USA.
Also known as Crazy Horse, it is a sacred stone for Native Americans,
with the name implying that the difficulty of mining it is akin to capturing wild horses.
The end chain is a meticulously crafted piece, featuring a motif of a whip with a rope tied to a buffalo horn, used to guide horses.
Transcending the boundaries of mere adornment,
this piece is created to pay tribute to the Native Americans who once fought,
and to gently kindle a flame in the hearts of all who continue to live by facing
the challenges of everyday life today.

My wrist circumference is just over 15 cm, so it is loose, but when my hand is down, it catches on the bone at the base of my palm and does not slide off any further.
Although it is on the larger side, it is a size that does not feel particularly awkward even when worn as is.
