Jewelry by Birthstone
In 2021, the Japan Jewelers Association revised Japan's birthstones for the first time in 63 years, creating quite a stir.
Approximately 60 years passed from the establishment of birthstones to their revision. During this time, new gemstones such as Aquaprase were recognized, along with new minerals like Amaterasu Stone discovered within jade.
The revision of birthstones was prompted by the recognition that many new stones have emerged in recent years alone.
The 10 additional stones include Bloodstone and Sphene, which are still relatively unfamiliar to the general public, sparking excitement for these new, unseen gemstones.
