ネイティブアメリカンが身に着けていた胸飾り
ブレストプレートからインスピレーションを得て、現代的に再構築したシリーズ。
儀式や戦いの場で 自らを奮い立たせ、誇りを胸に刻む象徴として
身につけられていました。
WAKANではその精神を受け継ぎ、リングやネックレスに仕立てました。
釘を打つ穴の代わりには、菱形のスタンプワークを刻んで。
この菱形模様は、ネイティブアメリカンにおいて
ウォーボンネットにあしらわれたゴールデンイーグルの羽根を象徴する幾何学模様。
それは 勇気と名誉 の証であり、
イーグルは空高く舞い、祈りを天へ運ぶ存在と信じられてきました。
装飾品としての枠を超えて、
かつて戦ったネイティブアメリカンへの敬意と、
現代もまた日々の困難に立ち向かいながら生きるすべての人の心に、
そっと火を灯すきっかけになることを願って制作されています。
